COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers arrested a man allegedly responsible for the Walgreens robbery on North Nevada Avenue in the city on Oct. 14, but he may have been responsible for at least four others.
Officers arrested 38-year-old Ronald Fresquez Tuesday morning after doing surveillance in the 2600 block of East Willamette Avenue and charged him with one count of aggravated robbery for the holdup in the 2900 block of North Nevada Avenue Oct. 14.
Officers said he will also be charged with robberies at the same location May 14 and July 9 and may be charged with two other robberies from earlier in 2011.
Fresquez robbed the pharmacy section of the store Oct. 14, stealing pain pills. He also stole from the pharmacy May 14.
Although Fresquez said he had a gun in those robberies, employees never told police officers they actually saw one.
Detectives are continuing their investigation, and interviews and searches are underway.
