Teen killed in early morning crash

PUEBLO COUNTY, COLO. -- Alcohol and speed may be to blame for a crash that killed an 18-year-old early Saturday morning.

It happened just before 5 a.m. on Colorado 78, 10 miles west of Pueblo.

The Colorado State Patrol said a Jeep Cherokee was heading west on 78 when the driver lost control, went off the road and collided with a barbed wire fence and some trees.

The driver, 18-year-old Carlos Torres of Pueblo, was ejected and died on scene.

An investigation is underway.
