COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Senator Michael Bennet was in Colorado Springs Wednesday, promoting the "Safe Doses Act" and other measures that would help crack down on prescription drug theft.

Bennet made a stop at Ivywild Pharmacy on South Nevada Avenue.

The pharmacy was recently burglarized.

Bennet said the bill would support local pharmacies as they work to protect their merchandise and employees.

According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, armed robberies at pharmacies increased by 81 percent between 2006 and 2010.
