COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A representative from Colorado Springs Utilities has said power has been restored to all customers after a pickup truck crashed into a utility pole early Thursday morning.
Officials responded to the 300 block of South Hancock just after 4 a.m. Thursday.
Police said a white ford pickup truck struck a wooden power pole, completely severing it.
The unidentified driver and a passenger fled the scene of the crash before police arrived.
The top of the power pole had caught fire, but crews were quickly able to extinguish the flames.
Utility crews had been working hard to restore power to the close to 7,000 customers in the area.
