EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- El Paso County Sheriff's deputies have identified a body found in the Black Forest area Sunday.

Deputies said they were able to identify the decomposed body from its teeth, matching it to 30-year-old Jamie Essig's dental records.

Essig, a Fountain resident, was reported missing April 14. Officials made the positive identification Wednesday - exactly five months later.

She hadn't been seen since March 23, and a family member reported her missing after she missed an appointment.

Deputies said Essig's death is considered suspicious but would not say why. The El Paso County Coroner's Office has not yet determined how she died. Essig's body was badly decomposed when authorities arrived Sunday.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
