COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. (AP) -- An anti-abortion group says it's seeking a compromise with abortion rights advocates.

Focus on the Family spokesman Gary Schneeberger says president Jim Daly has been meeting with abortion rights supporters since the spring to find common ground to reduce the number of abortions, while still holding to each groups' convictions.

Colorado Public News, which reported on the negotiations, contacted 10 well-known groups that support abortion rights and was told that none had heard from Focus on the Family in the six months since Daly made his offer to talk.

Schneeberger declined to name the advocates, but said the negotiations are continuing.
