PUEBLO, COLO. (AP) -- Four employees of the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo are on leave while authorities investigate how a patient got a broken arm.

The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office is trying to determine how 38-year-old Shawn Whittaker got injured while being restrained.

According to the Pueblo Chieftain, interim superintendent Teresa Bernal said Whittaker's medical condition was monitored throughout the night of the incident and more treatment was sought when he continued to complain of pain.
