BOULDER, COLO. (AP) -- A new wildfire burning in Boulder County has grown to about 40 acres.
Authorities say the fire west of Lyons was about 5 percent contained Thursday. Fifteen homes have been put on standby because of the Coffintop fire, which started Wednesday evening.
Another Boulder County wildfire that started Sunday is nearly fully contained at 60 acres. It was sparked by an unattended campfire.
In southern Colorado, crews are still fighting a 7-square-mile wildfire near Westcliffe. The blaze is 80 percent contained and it hasn't grown significantly since Monday.
A red flag warning is in effect for much of Colorado because of hot, dry conditions. Many counties, including Boulder, have enacted fire bans headed into the July Fourth weekend.
