COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- About 225 Fort Carson soldiers were welcomed home overnight by family and friends.
Soldiers from the Raider Brigade were greeted with smiling faces and warm hugs from loved ones after returning home from overseas.
During their deployment to Afghanistan soldiers with the Raider Brigade focused on eliminating insurgency strongholds as well as forging a close partnership with Afghan National police and security forces in the country.
More Fort Carson soldiers are expected to return later this week.
