HARTFORD, CONN. -- A Fort Carson soldier killed in Afghanistan has been laid to rest in his homestate of Connecticut.
Twenty-year-old Pfc. Eric D. Soufrine died June 14 after insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
Soufrine was assigned to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Divison.
His family said he was only two weeks away from completing his tour of duty when he was killed.
