EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- A single vehicle crash in El Paso County left a woman with serious injuries and a man in jail.
The Colorado State Patrol is still investigating the crash that happened on Forest Service Road 300 north of Canyon Drive late Sunday night.
Troopers said the car was heading southbound when it left the road, traveled up an embankment, and collided with a tree.
The driver, 48-year-old Troy Tutza of Colorado Springs was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The passenger, 27-year-old Tina Bordeaux, was air lifted from the scene with serious injuries.
Troopers said alcohol and drugs use are being considered as contributing factors in the crash.
Tutza was booked into the El Paso County Jail for vehicular assault and other charges related to the accident.
