COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's popular Stargazing Series is back by popular demand.
On designated Fridays, the Mountaineer Sky Ride, an open-air, chairlift-style ride that travels from the base of the zoo over exhibits and up to a breathtaking city overlook at the top, will open after dark - from 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to take in the views, meet some nocturnal animal friends, make glow-in-the-dark slime with Science Matters and enjoy lasers, lights and science gadgets with Cool Science.
Also, the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society will be on hand with their telescopes to give visitors a closer look at the night sky.
There is no need to pre-purchase tickets for the Stargazing Series - simply show up the night of the event.
You can access the Mountaineer Sky Ride entrance from the zoo parking lot; please note, the rest of the zoo is closed.

This is a special event, so passes are not valid; however, members receive a $1 discount on tickets.
This summer's Stargazing Series are set for the following Fridays: June 17, July 22 & August 19.
