CASTLE ROCK, COLO. (AP) -- A Colorado mother accused of killing her two children is scheduled to appear in court to hear the charges she faces.
Kelli Murphy is facing two counts of first-degree murder and could face other charges when she appears in court Friday in Castle Rock.
Police say the 41-year-old Murphy called 911 Monday morning and said she was going to commit suicide and that her children were in heaven.
Police say they found 6-year-old Madigan and 9-year-old Liam dead when they went to the family's home in Castle Rock. The cause of death is being determined.
Court documents show Murphy and her husband, Robert Eric Murphy, were going through a divorce and bankruptcy. The Denver Post reports that about 300 people gathered in a park Thursday night to remember the children.
