COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A Colorado Springs Police officer originally charged with sexual exploitation of children is now being charged with sexual assault on children after police said he allegedly molested children at Horace Mann Middle School.
Police said further investigation after Carrier's initial arrest indicated he had unlawful sexual contact with multiple children. Police arrested him around 5:15 p.m. and charged him with five counts of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.
A father of one of the alleged victims said a judge signed an arrest warrant Thursday afternoon.
The father said Carrier targeted "young white boys who had not yet hit puberty." The man said Carrier touched several wrestlers inappropriately, mostly while in the wrestling office. He asked not to be named.
Other wrestlers had allegedly come forward earlier this week, but until Thursday no charges had been filed.
Carrier's bond is $500,000. The investigation is ongoing, and police are not releasing any other information as of now. Officers will be interviewing other potential victims in the coming weeks.
