PUEBLO, COLO. -- Pueblo police have arrested two men accused of trying to carjack three vehicles and stabbing two of their victims.

The two suspects, 29-year-old Alonzo Flores and 30-year-old Felipe Nevarez, both from Alamosa, are in custody following a brief standoff Thursday afternoon.

It started just before 1 p.m. when Pueblo police received a call about an attempted carjacking in the 3000 block of West Northern Avenue.

Police said the suspects were chased but managed to get away.

About a half hour later police said the same men were seen at a nearby Walmart where they allegedly tried taking another car but failed.

Investigators said the pa ir then attempted to carjack a third vehicle from two brothers who were washing their car, stabbing the brothers during a struggle.

They are now recovering from their injuries.

Flores and Nevarez face three counts of attempted aggravated robbery and second degree burglary.
