COLORADO -- Weather experts are predicting the extreme drought conditions that have gripped parts of nine states, including Colorado, will last for several more months.

While there has been an increase in moisture in recent days, weather experts say, the month of May could be the last chance for some relief since May typically brings the most rainfall in many of the bone-dry states.

The dry conditions have already led to a number of large scale wildfires across the region.
