* April Star Party, hosted by the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society from 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Bear Creek Park (east entrance). It's FREE and, weather permitting, members of the club will have their scopes set up for the public to enjoy a little bit of star-gazing.
* The Southern Colorado 9Health Fair will be held from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday April 16 at the Manitou Springs High School, 401 El Monte Place.
Some of the FREE services and basic screenings which will be offered include blood pressure & pulse screening, height & weight, body mass index, body fat skin fold measurement, vision, hearing and oral screenings, “Ask The Pharmacist,” talk with a health professional, finger-stick glucose and pulse oximeter, spinal screening and CPR Demonstrations.
(In addition, low-cost screenings of $30 for a blood chemistry test, $25 for a PSA for men 40 and over, $15 blood count test and $20 for a colon cancer take home/mail-in kit will be offered. Additional screenings and possible immunizations are still being planned.)
