DENVER (AP) -- A survey of supply managers suggests the economies of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming will expand in the months ahead, with the strongest growth coming in Wyoming.

Based on the survey results, the Goss Institute for Economic Research said Monday that the business conditions index for the Rocky Mountain region in December was 57.6, up from 56 in November.

Anything above 50 indicates growth.

Institute director Ernie Goss says regional firms with close ties to mining and durable goods manufacturing are reporting healthy and improving economic conditions. He says the weak U.S. dollar and an expanding global economy will push regional growth for the first half of the year.
