DENVER, COLO. -- New numbers from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment shows the states unemployment rate rose to 8.2% in August.
That is up from 7.9%.
Colorado's rate had held steady for months, but officials say the August jump shows the job market has not yet stabilized.
About 216,500 Coloradans were unsuccessful in finding a job last month.
Colorado's unemployment rate is still lower than the national average -- which was 9.6% in August..
