HUERFANO COUNTY, COLO. -- A rollover crash killed one and left another injured Friday evening in Huerfano County.
The single-car crash happened around 8 p.m. when 55-year-old Henry Sanchez of La Veta lost control of the 1996 Toyota Camry on Highway 160, about four miles west of Walsenburg.
Sanchez was traveling westbound when he entered a curve and traveled off the northern side of the highway. The car reentered the highway and rotated off the southern side before rolling 2.5 times.
Sanchez, who was not wearing his seatbelt, died after being ejected from the car. The only passenger, 30-year-old Tara Bernal of Walsenburg, was also not wearing her seatbelt and suffered serious injuries.
Police are investigating whether or not alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
