DENVER (AP) -- A conservative Republican senator known for championing party outsiders is headed to Denver to stump for Ken Buck.

Most Republicans in the Senate have backed Buck's primary opponent, former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton. But South Carolina Republican Sen. Jim DeMint announced in April that he will help Buck, who is the Weld County District Attorney.

DeMint headlines a downtown rally for Buck and a fundraiser Thursday night.
