DENVER (AP) -- A Republican Iowa congressman whose invitations to speak at a GOP fundraiser and a tea party rally in Colorado this weekend were revoked is coming to the state anyway -- to speak at an immigration rally.
Rep. Steve King was to speak at a tea party gathering and at a fundraiser for Cory Gardner, a Republican challenging Democratic Rep. Betsy Markey this weekend. Those invitations were revoked after King said President Barack Obama favors blacks over whites.
King will now speak at a Loveland rally of people who agree with Arizona's recent immigration law. Also at the rally will be Tom Tancredo, a former Republican congressman from Colorado Springs who briefly ran for president in 2008 on an anti-immigration platform.
