McLEAN, Ill. (AP) -- Authorities say police officers arrested two men after seizing what they believe is more than $1 million worth of cocaine and heroin from a truck on Interstate 55 in central Illinois.

Illinois State Police say they arrested a 37-year-old man from Denver and a 30-year-old man from Belton, Mo., Monday on preliminary charges of trafficking controlled substances and delivery of controlled substances. Both are jailed in Bloomington awaiting formal charges.

Police say they arrested the two after pulling over a semi truck on Interstate 55 just outside McLean for a safety inspection.

Police say a drug-sniffing dog was brought in. It found 8 kilograms of cocaine and a kilogram of heroin inside the truck's trailer.
