NORWOOD, Colo. (AP) — A wildfire burning in a canyon in southwestern Colorado is 70 percent contained despite increased fire danger due to warmer, windier weather.

The fire has burned nearly 4 square miles, or about 2,600 acres, in San Miguel Canyon near Norwood. The fire is burning mainly on federal land in grass, brush, pine trees and sagebrush.

No structures are threatened.

Fire managers say a downed power line started the blaze Saturday. High winds quickly spread the flames, but colder temperatures, rain and snow earlier in the week helped crews start containing the fire.

Officials say 275 people are fighting the fire.
