ASPEN, Colo. (AP) -- Lawyers say plea negotiations for a former Aspen police officer accused of putting a camera in the shower of a teenage girl living in his home have broken down.

Thirty-eight-year-old Joe Holman pleaded not guilty Monday in Pitkin County District Court to two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a child, tampering with evidence and attempted criminal invasion of privacy.

Trial is scheduled for July 13.

Holman resigned from the Aspen Police Department in June after the teen reported the camera in the shower. A police affidavit says Holman allegedly told officers he put the camera there because he was upset with the girl for not obeying his orders.
