COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The first Friday of February is the American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" Day, where everyone is encouraged to wear something with the color red to show support for heart disease -- the number one killer of women in the U.S.

Jay Russell is an advocate for educating women about the dangers of heart disease. He and his family were affected by the loss of his sister, Kyla Russell, who passed away in 2008 in her mid-20s. When Kyla was diagnosed at age 18, she started taking up the cause by speaking to others. Now in her absence, Jay is trying to fill her shoes.
