COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO -- New Information from Haiti has family and friends of David Hames filled with hope, believing he is still alive.
Carl Adams has known David Hames for more than 10 years; he joined in Wednesday night’s prayer service dedicated to Hames.
“I would call him a role model, especially as a husband and a father figure. He's just incredible with his two boys and just loves his two boys, and as a husband just really loves his wife and is the type of person I just really want to be," said Adams.
It’s been eight days since the devastating earthquake in Haiti but there's still hope at the church Hames and his family attend.
Two people from Compassion International (CI) are on the ground in Haiti joining in the efforts to find Hames. New information from the devastated country is what's giving family and friends hope that David is still alive.
“Today we got just a piece of amazing news that they heard tapping in the rubble, and what's even more amazing is that we're hearing that tapping is coming from the very location where David was last known to be," said Tosha Williams, a family friend.
Dan Woolley was trapped in the same hotel as Hames. And thanks to Woolley, rescue workers on the ground have pictures and a description of exactly where Hames was last seen.
FOX21 News was told the workers are finding large pockets of open space within the rubble. Friends and family also tsay Hames had his backpack on when the earthquake hit. And in his backpack he always carries food and water, leaving his family and friends to believe there is still hope.
