COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The very cold Arctic air continues to pour into Colorado. Low temperatures Tuesday night were in the teens and twenties and they haven’t risen much during the day.
Overnight Wednesday, the readings on the thermometer will drop into the single digits and low teens. Add to that winds between five and 10 miles per hour, and the wind chill temperatures will drop below zero.
The temperatures on Thursday will linger in the teens with wind chills in the single digits most of the day. In addition, light snow will continue off and on, especially overnight Wednesday and early Thursday. An inch or two is possible in Colorado Springs and Pueblo. Up to four inches may fall in northern El Paso and Teller counties.
The heaviest snow will be found in the Trinidad/Walsenburg area and the adjacent mountains. Four to 8 inches are possible at the lower elevations with five to 10in the mountains.
