* Some exciting changes are happening at at Lewis-Palmer High School in Monument. The public is invited to an open house and technology demonstration tonight in the school's new learning spaces. The 21st-century-education features include new interactive classroom electronics, multi-media presentation features, a distance learning lab and more. These high-tech renovations were made possible by the high school improvement bond fund. The open house is from 6 - 8 p.m. at the school located at 1300 Higby Road. * Author Fest of the Rockies 2009 begins tonight with a kickoff party in Manitou Springs. The event jump-starts a week full of activities. Head to D-Vine Wine of Manitou Springs for appetizers, live music and book-related commemorative wines that will benefit the annual event. It's free and open to the public. The event has grown to be the largest in its four-year history, featuring more than 50 authors from the local area and the national scene. The event is a fundraiser for Friends of the Manitou Springs Public Library. The event runs through Saturday, Oct. 3.
* This is the final week of the Farmer's Market in Memorial Park in Colorado Springs. Fresh farm produce is available through Thursday, Oct. 1 from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
