Event to benefit KRCC-FM

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- KRCC-FM and A Music Company Inc. will present an evening with “Legends of Jazz” on May 9. The event is set for the Cheyenne Mountain Resort, 3225 Broadmoor Valley Road.

Legends of Jazz features five 50-year veteran performers who reunite for an experience of the jazz art at its highest level. They are: pianist Larry Vuckovich (San Francisco), bassist John Heard (Los Angeles), drummer Eddie Marshall (San Francisco), tenor sax player Hadley Caliman (Seattle), and trombonist Julian Priester (Seattle).

Just mentioning a partial list of whom these players have worked with would read like a Who’s Who in the jazz world. Collectively they have performed or recorded with Lionel Hampton, Dinah Washington, Max Roach John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Wes Montgomery, Duke Ellington, Stan Getz, Wynton Marsalis, Chick Corea, Sonny Rollins and others.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.amusiccompanyinc.com or at KRCC FM, 912 N. Weber, Colorado Springs. Advance ticket prices are $30, ($25 for KRCC members) and $35 day of show. A portion of each ticket sale will benefit KRCC-FM.
