COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO -- During the past six months, 17 drafts have been made to D-11's school utilization recommendations. Wednesday night it was the school board's turn to listen and ask questions about the recommendations being called "big and bold."
School District 11's school board is considering several recommendations about the closure and realignment of eight elementary schools.
Whittier, Buena Vista, Washington, Ivywild, Adams, Jefferson and Longfellow are all facing closure and some students at Pike would be redirected to Bristol and Jackson as soon as this fall.
The final recommendations will be presented in a public hearing February 11 at Coronado High School.
