Drafted by New England Revolution in 3rd round
MONUMENT, COLO. -- Lewis-Palmer High School graduate Chris Salvaggione just hit the big time.
Salvaggione has been playing soccer since he was four years old. He worked his way through high school and attended UNC-Charlotte. Earlier this year, he went to play soccer for major league sports teams in Florida. He returned to his home in Monument to watch the results.
The New England Revolution drafted Chris in the third round.
He will play in Gillette Stadium in Massachussetts, the same stadium the New England Patriots play. He hopes to continue to build his career in the soccer field.
Salvaggione encourages everyone to work on their goals.
"When I was in high school, there were tons of people that told me it was extremely hard and that getting scholarships to college was nearly impossible," he said. "If you want to do it, work really hard at it. You have to sacrifice quite a bit, but it's going to be worth it."
