*  Today is the last day to view the exhibition of never-shown artwork from Katherine and Frederick Farrar's private collection, the museum's founding family. The exhibit also features the works of renowned western artists Harvey Otis Young, Charles Partridge Adams and Joseph Henry Sharp. Young came out west to mine for gold in California and later for silver in Colorado. As he made and lost his fortune in mining, he still had his passion and gift for art. These important works illustrate "The Lure of the West.” The event runs from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

* Bear Creek Park offers another session of its winter nature camp today. The topic is "Snug in the Snow.” Children can discover how animals survive the winter. Those who attend will make crafts, play games and hike trails. The camp is for children in the first through fifth grades. Cost $20 for one day and reservations are required. For more information, call 719-520-6237.

* Beginning at dark from now until the New Year, Wolf Ranch will light up its community for the annual holiday lighting program. All are invited to drive through the development to see a stunning light show with entertaining displays of holiday decorations. The development is located at Powers Blvd. and Research Pkwy. The light show begins at 6 p.m. and ends about 10:00. Entrance into Wolf Ranch is free.
