Techie holiday gifts combine it all
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Charles Fox from Microsoft joined FOX21 Morning News anchor Grace Polanski on the Thursday, Dec. 18, "Shopping Cents" segment and showed viewers four different cell phones currently on the market.
The devices are each gifts of organization in one little packet. Today's cell phones go beyond voice and e-mail, with Windows Mobile the power behind the features.
Fox gave the following rundown on each of the phones:
Samsung Blackjack II - The popular BlackJack II is now available in blue and pink for less than $100 from AT&T. It supports work and personal e-mail accounts, instant messaging, music and video, a full keyboard and built-in GPS. Available at AT&T stores or online. Pricing is $79.99 with a two-year agreement. Pink and blue versions were launched in August.
Samsung Omnia - This Samsung Omnia (currently sold in Europe and Asia) also has a touch screen and runs Windows Mobile. A favorite feature of this phone is the 5-megapixel camera -- so advanced that it even includes a feature that will only take a picture when your subject is smiling. Like each of these phones, users can take a picture and SMS it to a friend or easily send it directly to a blog so everyone can see the holiday party in progress.
HTC Diamond - The HTC Diamond is brand new on the Sprint network. It has the same great Windows Mobile software but comes with a sleek touch screen and allows the user to flick through pictures, e-mails, and music with the touch of a finger. It comes with a great browser that lets users browse for gifts right from the phone or browse for fun at the latest movie times, reviews and trailers.
HTC Touch Pro - Also on Sprint, the HTC Touch Pro comes with the same touch screen as the Diamond but has a full keyboard that slides out, making it even easier to e-mail and text.
