COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- There are no exceptions to the No Solicitation Zone no matter how much good a charitable organization might do.
But the Red Kettle campaign is still ringing, despite the recent panhandler pushback in downtown Colorado Springs.
"The wonderful thing is that the issue has raised the Kettle Campaign, we couldn't have even asked for that, so in a lot of ways it's great," Major John Bennett, of the Salvation Army said.
The Salvation Army getting a helping hand from Perry Sanders, the owner of the Mining Exchange and Springs Orleans, as they make space on their private property.
"We get a lot of great traffic that supports Springs Orleans and the Wyndam and partnering with the Salvation Army is something we want to do again," Patrice Ravenscroft, Sales Manager for the Mining Exchange said.
The donation season kicking off with handouts from Mayor Steve Bach and locals, helping out as they walk by.
The Salvation Army's goal this year is $600,000 from the 60 red kettle locations throughout the city.
The Red Kettle Campaign will run until December 24th.
