COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- It is hard to believe it is Thanksgiving.

With temperatures in the 70's Wednesday, it felt more like hot dog and snow cone weather, than turkey and stuffing.

"It has been beautiful today, I looked at my phone this morning and I was like 'Oh my gosh, you are never going to believe what the weather is outside,'" Springs resident Chanel Hase said.

"I had a sweater on, and then I stepped outside and was like 'Oh man I got to change,'" Steamboat Springs resident Zach Ray said.

Everywhere you went Wednesday, the playground, dog park or downtown, residents were out basking in the sun.

"The kids have been cooped up in the house all week, so I decided lets put the video games down and head to the park," Springs resident Ben Fisk said.

"We were watching some of our friends kids today, so we thought why not go to the park," Springs resident Dana said.

"There is a lot of Christmas shopping going on, and no one is wearing big winter jackets, just really busy for a Wednesday," Hase said.

FOX21 spoke with a variety of people, some from Colorado, some not.

Natives said the weather is not unusual, as the state is know for being a "bit off" when it comes to our weather.

Meanwhile others said the warm temperatures are hard to believe.

"I lived in Alaska for years, so yeah this is quite the temperature change," Springs resident Jessica said.

"People from back home (Kentucky) do not understand, they think it is just snow all the time here," Fisk said. "They do not get that when it does snow, a day later it is all gone and it is beautiful."

"There were a lot of people out and about today, everyone seems to be enjoying it," Ray said.
