Pueblo Police: 24 headstones knocked over at cemetery

PUEBLO, COLO. -- The Pueblo Police Department is investigating vandalism at Mountview Cemetery.

According to police, officers arrived at the cemetery early Friday afternoon to find that 24 headstones had been knocked over causing damage.

A witness told police they saw two teenagers in the cemetery pushing over one of the headstones. One suspect was described as wearing a hooded jacket which covered their face. The other suspect, according to the witness, was wearing a red jacket with grey sleeves.

Total damage to the headstones is damaged at about $24,000, police said.
