COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorful confections are on people's minds as the "holiday of love" get closer.
Patsy's Original Candies on 21st Street in Colorado Springs has recipes that date back to the late 1800's when their founder came to America from Ireland.
Over the years they've added more chocolates and candies to the menu, but this week, their product is looking a little pink.
Whether cupid's arrow got you good or you're just looking to sugar up your sweetheart they've got 7-thousand pounds of chocolate for their heart-shaped boxes.
"This is a family business everything made right here in the factory," Si Niswonger explained.
He and his two daughters agreed, chocolates trump all other treats this holiday.
"You can't eat your roses," he joked, "You can look at 'em."
At Patsy's their crew works like Willy Wonka... using pipes to send chocolate to each end of the factory, dripping the indulgent dessert into heated mixing vats to keep it melt-in-your-mouth good.
But why chocolate? Si said, "It's something people can enjoy for a long time. They don't have to eat all the chocolates at once they can save them, or they can share them."
