Everyone waiting for word on the cause of the Waldo Canyon Fire needs to be patient, according to investigators.

The Waldo Canyon Fire Investigation Task Force, which includes officials from the ATF, FBI, Colorado Springs Police and Fire Departments, El Paso County Sheriffs Office and the U.S. Forest Service, held a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

Barbara Miller, spokesperson for the CSPD, said there will be "no new life shattering information available today."

Investigators did say they have established that the fire was human caused, but are still working to determine if it was intentional or accidental.

It was confirmed that the smoke was first reported on Friday June 22, not on Saturday, and investigators have pinpointed where it was started.

While they do not have a person of interest right now, the CSPD said "we need community's help, someone out there knows what caused this fire, someone needs to step forward."

Nearly 400 tips were placed into the tip line. Those thought to be the most crucial were handled as a priority with follow-ups still being conducted.

Investigators assigned to the Task Force continue to move forward with their efforts.

Anyone with information please call (719) 444-7000, or call Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers at (719) 634-STOP. You do not need to leave your name and could get a cash reward.
