"Violent" sex offender violates parole in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers re-arrested a sexually violent predator for violating his parole.

Eugene Romero is back in custody Monday, though officers did not say exactly what he did.  No new criminal charges have been filed.

Romero was convicted of attempted sexual assault on a child and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute back in 2003.  He was also convicted of possession/sale of a schedule I or II controlled substance in 1998.

The 32-year old Hispanic man is 5'4" and weighs 140 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Romero had been living in the 2000 block of S. Chelton Road since May 23.
