COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers said a second person is dead in the same address where crews found the first body Thursday evening.
Crews found the second body in the same home in the 2900 block of Rossmere Street. Two people were reported missing from that home when officials evacuated the Mountain Shadows area Tuesday afternoon.
The Waldo Canyon Fire, which burned 347 homes in the neighborhood, has now claimed two lives. It is about 25 percent contained as of Friday afternoon and has not grown in two days. It is currently burning about 17,073 acres.
Mandatory evacuations remain in place for areas in northwest Colorado Springs and areas along Highway 24.
