COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A Colorado Springs-based company that created t-shirts to generate relief funds in support of the Waldo Canyon Fire victims has created a new t-shirt in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
The brains behind Wild Fire Tees designed several t-shirts with various logos, emblems and slogans depicting hope, love and remembrance during the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history. All of the proceeds benefitted Waldo Canyon Fire victims, as organizers donated the money to organizations such as Care and Share and Red Cross.
For the first time since the company's late June startup and subsequent explosion, it is helping victims beyond Colorado.
The Hurricane Sandy t-shirt, dubbed "Flooded With Love," is available to purchase online beginning Monday. It is dark gray with light gray waves depicting the "stripes" of the U.S. flag. The "stars" of the flag are replaced with 50 light gray water droplets.
All proceeds from that t-shirt's sale benefit hurricane victims on the east coast.
The company also released a gray Colorado fire zip-up hoodie with the same logo as the first t-shirt - the 'C' in the Colorado flag with a flame going up through it.
Proceeds from wildfire-related merchandise sales will now go toward long-term Colorado wildfire relief and restoration.
Shipping is free for a limited time during the holiday season.
