COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Texas Governor Rick Perry was in Colorado Springs Sunday, campaigning for Mitt Romney.

The former presidential hopeful, told a group of supporters at the El Paso Victory Center, that Colorado is in trouble if President Obama is re-elected.

He added Colorado can serve as a key location to lead America to energy independence, which he said will bring more jobs to our state.

"It just makes a lot of sense for a state which has some unemployment numbers that are unacceptable to most people," Gov. Rick Perry said. "To find the ways to thoughtfully and safely explore this energy, and Colorado could be a major part of that."

After his speech, Perry joined the cause and made phone calls to voters in the area.
