DIVIDE, COLO. -- Western Teller County is home to two family-friendly areas that are educational and fun.

The Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center is home to wolves, coyotes and foxes. The animals were rescued from zoos and other sanctuaries. Now they roam in their large enclosures available for the public to see.

Darlene Kobobel runs the center. She leads tours for children and adults and wants everyone to learn more about the animals. Full-moon tours are given throughout the year.

For more information and pictures, check out their website.

Down the road is the Florissant Fossil Beds. This area is home to millions of fossils. Most notable are the petrified remains of giant redwood trees.

Visitors can see the remnants and even go on a mock fossil-finding expedition of their own. There are also miles of hiking trails on the 6,000-acre property.

The fossil beds also hold special events throughout the year.
