FOUNTAIN, COLO. -- The man found dead in Fountain Creek back in February died from a meth intoxication, according to the El Paso County Coroner.

The report, released by the coroner, said 27-year-old Nathaniel Vialpando died of methamphetamine intoxication.

It was Feb. 8, when police said someone who was walking their dogs spotted what they thought was a body submerged in water.

According to police, snow and ice had developed on the body.

Because of decomposition, it could not be determined if drowning or hypothermia played a role in Vialpando’s death, the Coroner said.

The Fountain Police Department said it first got a call about Vialpando on Dec. 2.

According to the call, Vialpando was at a truck stop causing a scene. When police arrived, he was inside a white pickup. After yelling at police, he sped off, authorities said.

Vialpando turned down Bandley and went across a field before running the vehicle into a concrete barrier, police said. When police arrived to the pickup, he was gone.

After a several-hour long search, Vialpando was never found. Police said that was the last time his family had heard from him and there was never a missing person's report filed.
