COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A man plead guilty today for beating his three-month-old son to death.

According to officials, James Pierce is looking at a 25-40 year sentence in prison after pleading guilty to child abuse resulting in death.

Police arrested Pierce, who was 19 at the time, back in April 2011, after finding his infant son beaten to the point of unconsciousness.

The infant later died at the hospital.

According to the coroner, the cause of death was "multiple blunt force strikes".
