One dead, one hurt in Colorado Springs stabbing

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers said one person is dead and another is in the hospital after being stabbed in Colorado Springs Thursday morning.

Officers said they believe they have the suspect detained and say there is not a threat to the community.

They did not release any information about what led to the stabbing on Mallow Road near Austin Bluffs Parkway and North Nevada Avenue around 5:38 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing, and officers did not immediately release any other information but confirmed it is indeed a homicide.
