FOUNTAIN, COLO. -- Fountain police are investigating a body that was found in Fountain Creek Friday afternoon.

It is not yet known if foul play is suspected, police said.

The body, which has not been identified, was found near Santa Fe and Crest Drive, police said. At about 3:30, someone who was walking their dogs spotted what they thought was a body submerged in water.

According to police, the body was found 400 yards away from Interstate 25 off Bandley.

Police said snow and ice had developed on the body.

No missing reports had been filed, police said.

Fountain police requested assistance from Denver and Pueblo.
