City's first homicide

A 20 year old man is Colorado Springs' first homicide.

Colorado Springs police said they were called to Copperhead Road on Academy and North Carefree around 2:00 this morning. The initial invesitgation revealed that there was an altercation between the man and security at the saloon, during which shots were exchanged. They found the patron with a gunshot wound to his head. He was later pronounced dead at an area hospital. 

According to police, no one is in custody, and they are not seeking anyone at this time. They case is now under review by the District Attorney's office.


The victims name has not yet been released, pending an autopsy on Saturday.
