COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A man who has been on the run from law enforcement for months was finally caught Thursday in Colorado Springs.

Authorities from Montgomery County Texas have been searching for 30-year-old Justin Burns.

Burns is accused of raping a 6-year-old autistic girl. He was wanted for two counts of aggravated sexual assault on a child.

Criminal Investigator Joey Ashton flew into the Springs Wednesday evening to follow up on some leads in the area.

While here he said he received several more tips which helped to lead to Burns arrest.

Ashton said Burns was seen at the Marian House, a soup kitchen on W. Bijou Thursday morning.

He left before authorities arrived but was found at Antlers Park.

"He gave us a fake name but he was identified by way of tattoos and other items," Ashton said.

CSPD officers along with some private investigators were there to assist.

Ashton said it's a relief to finally get Burns off the street.

"It's a very good feeling but the phone call that I'm going to make to the victim and the victim's mother is a whole lot better feeling than what I'm feeling right now," Ashton said.

The woman Burns was suspected to be with was also found in Colorado Springs.

She is not facing any charges at this time.
